Options Contract Specifications

The coffee contract specifications tell you how the coffee options trade, not how to trade to coffee options. Before you consider opening a commodity options account you should consult with a licensed commodities broker.

COFFEE OPTIONS

Trading Unit
One Coffee "C" futures contract (37,500 pounds)

Price Quotation
Cents and hundredths of a cent up to two decimal places

Minimum Price Fluctuations
1/100 cent/lb, equivalent to $3.75 per contract

Trading Hours (all times are New York time)
The contracts are available for trading on the CME Globex® trading platform from 6:00 PM Sundays through 5:15 PM Fridays, Eastern Time, with a 45-minute break each day between 5:15 PM and 6:00 PM. Off-Exchange transactions can be submitted solely for clearing to the NYMEX ClearPort® clearing website as an exchange of futures for swaps (EFS) or exchange of futures for physicals (EFP) transaction until 5:15 PM, Monday through Friday, and the day preceding a holiday.

Regular Options: March, May, July, September and December Serial Options: January,
February, April, June, October and November

Daily Price Movement
None

First Trading Day Regular Options
Business day following the day on which the underlying futures trade is listed.

First Trading Day Serial Options
First business day of the third calendar month preceding the serial option month.

Last Notice Day
Second Friday of the calendar month preceding such regular or serial option month;
provided, however, that for each option, there will be a minimum of four trading days
between the last trading day of the expiring option and the first notice day of the
expiring future.
